Incredibly classy, broadly textured Chenin with a good lick of very posh oak. One of the most intense and long-lived finishes in a wine.
From plots of quite old (35-50 years) vines in Meuriers and Gabillards where Aeolian sand overlays the schist base. Might as well get the bad bit out of the way… we don’t have anything like enough considering the sheer brilliance of this wine. We’re big Savennières enthusiasts and this feels to us very much like it has the potential to be up there with the greatest. We say feels like because it’s a baby… a pretty explosive baby mind… and there’s just so much in there shouting for your attention that it’s hard to see quite how special the whole will become as it settles and starts to come together… we're definitely taking the chance though, so there’s one less than not enough already!
